Singer Taylor Swift has announced her support for the victims affected by the recent tornado in Tennessee by donating a million dollars. On March 5th, the “Lover” singer wrote on her personal page that Nashville, Tennessee, is her home and seeing a natural disaster cause people to lose their homes is heartbreaking. The money donated by Taylor will be transferred to the Tennessee Emergency Response fund to help affected areas recover from the tornado.
Taylor Swift, the popular singer, is not only known for her music career but also for her charitable works. She has consistently topped the list of most charitable celebrities for several years now. In 2016, she donated one million dollars to help the flood victims in Louisiana. In 2011, she organized a charity show and raised $750,000 for tornado victims in the southern part of the United States.
Recently, Tennessee was hit hard by a tornado on March 3, resulting in at least 24 deaths and hundreds of buildings destroyed. Besides Taylor Swift, many other artists such as Chris Young and Johnny Van Zant have also donated tens of thousands of dollars to aid those affected by the disaster.
