Let’s start with the basics. The Outset is the name of Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming skincare line, which will be available on March 1st. It features four products that make it easy to take care of your skin.

The Black Widow star announced her plans to launch a skincare line in July 2021, and her new brand was the reason she stepped back from her previous beauty deals with L’Oréal Paris and Dolce and Gabbana.

Johansson said that while she enjoyed working with luxury brands in the past, she always felt like she was playing a character in their campaigns. As she has evolved, she wanted to create a brand that was true to who she is. She shared these thoughts with Vogue in their March 2022 issue.

Johansson and her business partner, Kate Foster, launched their brand’s Instagram page and website simultaneously with the release of their product. At present, the brand has nearly 30,000 followers on social media, including Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost. Jost made a humorous comment on the brand’s post featuring Johansson’s side profile, stating that he wanted to use this photo for his upcoming brand called “Part of a Face.” The line is centered around a “back to basics” approach, with an emphasis on simplicity and uncomplicated routines. Fans have expressed their enthusiasm for the new line while enjoying the comedic note from Jost.

Besides The Outset, several other celebrities have recently launched their own beauty brands, including Ariana Grande’s r.e.m. beauty, Machine Gun Kelly’s UN/DN LAQR, Peyton List’s Pley Beauty, and Hailey Baldwin’s forthcoming Rhode line, which is scheduled to debut in 2022.
