Actor Jon Voight, who is Angelina Jolie’s father, has stated that he was not aware of his daughter being one of the victims of Harvey Weinstein and that she never mentioned anything to him about it. When asked by the media about the reports of Angelina Jolie being sexually harassed by Harvey when she was young, Jon Voight said that he did not have any knowledge of the incident nor did he hear his daughter talk about it.
“I’m not sure,” Jon replied. “Angie didn’t mention anything about it.” The statement was in reference to a question asked about a particular topic, but Jon was unable to provide more information as Angelina hadn’t discussed it with him.
Following his response, the 78-year-old celebrity expressed his belief that acts of abuse and harassment can occur in any setting where individuals hold positions of power. In a video shared by the Daily Mail, Jon conveyed, “Those in positions of authority can misuse their power and such incidents are bound to occur regardless of location or persons involved.”
During the infamous sex scandal involving Harvey Weinstein in October, Angelina Jolie came forward as a courageous victim who had suffered from the actions of this influential individual.
Angelina revealed that she had a distressing encounter with Harvey Weinstein during her youth. Consequently, she decided not to collaborate with him again and even advised others to be cautious when working with him. Angelina strongly condemns harassment of women in any industry and country, deeming it unacceptable.
